There’s a quote I return to often, one that captures exactly what this work means to me as a maternity, newborn and family photographer in Utrecht:
"The biggest compliment you can give a photographer is to keep inviting them back to document your life."
These words are the heartbeat of this collection.
Because the images below aren’t just photographs. They're nine years of trust, connection, and families who have allowed me to walk beside them through different chapters of their lives. From 2016 all the way into 2025, I’ve had the honour of documenting their stories as they grow and change: maternity moments filled with anticipation, tiny newborns curled into the world for the very first time, curious toddlers, siblings becoming best friends, and families settling into the beautiful rhythm of everyday life.
When I look at these photographs side by side, I see more than just images.
I see families who chose to come back, not because they needed new photos, but because they wanted their story told in a way that feels true to them. To be invited back is the greatest honour.
To be trusted with your memories—again and again—is the greatest compliment.
